Morning Briefing
As the sun rises, I arrive at the ATS Mechanical office for our daily meeting. We discuss the day’s schedule, ongoing projects, and any urgent service calls. Today, I’m assigned to a mix of residential and commercial air conditioning jobs.
First Stop: Residential AC Repair
My first task is a residential call. Mrs. Johnson’s central air system isn’t cooling properly. After a thorough inspection, I discover a refrigerant leak. I explain the situation to Mrs. Johnson and proceed with the necessary repairs:
- Locate and seal the leak
- Recharge the system with refrigerant
- Test the system’s performance
Mrs. Johnson is delighted with the cool air flowing through her home once again.
Lunch Break and Parts Run
I grab a quick lunch and make a stop at our local supplier to pick up parts for the afternoon’s commercial job.
Afternoon: Commercial AC Maintenance
The afternoon takes me to a large office building downtown. It’s time for their bi-annual maintenance check. This involves:
- Inspecting and cleaning condenser and evaporator coils
- Checking and adjusting refrigerant levels
- Lubricating moving parts
- Verifying thermostat operation
The building manager is pleased with the thorough service, ensuring their system runs efficiently through the hot summer months.
End of Day: Emergency Call
Just as I’m wrapping up, we get an emergency call from a local restaurant. Their walk-in cooler is malfunctioning, putting their inventory at risk. I rush over to diagnose and repair the issue, saving the day (and their perishables)!
As the sun sets, I head back to the ATS Mechanical office to file my reports and prepare for another cool day tomorrow. It’s a challenging job, but keeping people comfortable makes it all worthwhile.
